Get the Led Out
Chris performed the classic "Whole Lotta Love" said by Mix Magazine to be "every bit as good as the original.... but with a unique flair."
This exciting remake was included as a CD single in the October 2008 issue of Guitar World Magazine.
Check it out at I-Tunes and all major retailers
Third Stone from the Sun
Tribute to the one and only Jimi Hendrix. Chris chose the quintessental Jimi track, VooDoo Child. 20th Century Guitar Magazine says...."Chris Mahoney took this song to new heights!"
Available online and all major retailers.
Dirty Fingers
On this tribute to the amazing Jeff Beck, Chris performed Star Cycle from JB's There and Back CD. Covering a Jeff Beck is an odd experience.... humbling, gratifying and terrifying!!
It's a great collection of music.
El Becko
Well... refer to the Dirty Fingers release. This was the first edition released in 2008 by NuGroove and CBS records in conjunction with the experimental and bold label, BHP. This features a slightly different lineup of artists and songs.
Star Cycle was the CMP Pick.
I Feel Free
Crossroads was told to me by the label to be "the SIGNATURE Eric Clapton song", so I jumped on it. However, I did this without hearing the song! Not a good plan!! I was committed to this track and the "pressure" forced a rewarding outcome. Some songs translate well to an instrumental.....some do not. Crossroads was the latter.
The extreme frustration yeilded an exciting result. I believe this to be the most creative remake of all I was involved in.
It will be featured as a bonus track on Appearance.
Get some more Led out
A follow up to the successful Get the Led out. CMP recorded Misty Mountain Hop, featuring a great drum performance from Josh Eppard (Coheed and Cambria, Weird Science) Recorded in an afternoon in Woodstock NY, this energetic track will be released on the BHP label and will be available at all major retailers and on all online outlets.
